About the evidence
AgeAim summarises public guidance from health agencies, professional bodies, and published research. Every priority names the sources it draws on, and every source records when it was last reviewed.
Where the evidence comes from
- Government guidance
- Published by a public health agency, such as the CDC or a federal health department.
- Clinical guideline
- A recommendation issued by a clinical body for practitioners.
- Developmental research
- Peer-reviewed research on how people grow and change over time.
- Professional consensus
- Agreed practice from a professional association, where evidence is still forming.
- Public health framework
- A model describing what shapes wellbeing across a population.
- Lived experience review
- Findings drawn from the accounts of people with direct experience.
How content is reviewed
Guidance lives in versioned files that change only through review. Each age band carries a review status. Bands marked as not yet reviewed show a notice, because they were assembled from public guidance and have not yet been checked by a subject expert.
